This Fall marks the official 20th Anniversary of Fort Knox Five and to celebrate this milestone, the group reached out to a few of their favorite producers to remix some FK5 classics. First up in this new series is The Allergies remixing the Fort Knox Five hip-hop anthem “Insight” featuring Asheru, and this one is a certified banger!

The Allergies remix is 21st century funky hip-hop on steroids, complete with some retro-heavy guitars, crunchy beats and crashing breaks. This is definitely not some backpacker hip-hop, instead pushing the boundaries of hard funk and beats. The Allergies are best known for reshaping funky vintage sounds for the modern dance floor and they bring all their best bells and whistles to bear on this remix.

The Allergies have delivered a no holds barred funky hip-hop monster and kick off the new series of remixes in style. It is an honor to have such legends flip one of FK5’s tracks, and bring so much new energy and excitement to the song. Asheru said it best in his lyrics – “this is music with a meaning and party with a purpose”, and now, The Allergies have funked it up all over again!
